Camera Bird Box

Many people choose to have a bird box in their garden to provide a safe home for the birds to nest and breed. It has become a popular option to install a camera in the bird box so you can watch the baby birds hatch and feed. This can be for monitoring purpose or just for pleasure.

It is important to choose a device/system that will not disturb the birds or their nest, as it need to remain as natural as possible. Camera footage/photos can be watched or recorded using a variety of devices and software, different methods will suit different circumstances.


Standard Bird Box

The most basic option is to have an ordinary bird box. Usually made from a sturdy wooden constuction so it stays warm in the winter. You can take photos or video of the birds arriving and leave their nest from a safe distance.

The standard nest box make a great alternative to a natural nesting place as it provides a safe home for our natural wildlife.
